Legendary : A Marvel Deck Building Game se situe dans l'univers des Comics Marvel.Pour commencer le jeu, les joueurs choisissent un nombre de decks Héros (Spiderman, Wolverine, Hulk...) puis les mélangent ensemble.Comme les joueurs utilisent seulement une poignée de decks Héros parmi les 15 disponibles, les decks Héros changent à chaque partie.Les joueurs choisissent ensuite un super vilain (Magneto, Dr. Doom...), et modifient le deck de ce super vilain en fonction de ses caractéristiques et du scénario.Les Héros combattent ensemble pour empêcher le super vilain de réaliser son objectif, ils recrutent d'autres héros, augmentent leurs pouvoirs et combattent les méchants.Si le super vilain réalise son objectif avant la fin de la partie, tous les joueurs perdent, sinon, le joueur a avoir totalisé le plus de points remporte la partie.
